Planhat OS - overview of technical changes

Highlights of what's new, what's moved and what's been renamed in Planhat OS

Written by Natalie Kwong

Summary

  • You can chat with Planhat (in Sessions) - this advanced AI knows all of your Planhat data, and can answer your questions and even build things for you in Planhat, including HTML Artifacts. Memories and Skills are ways you can teach Planhat's AI so it's even more tailored to you

  • Signals automatically highlight key customer/prospect events, such as churn risks and expansion opportunities, so you can easily prioritize your work, rather than you having to go through all your data to decide what's important

  • Favorites are your personal shortcuts - the records (e.g. Companies), Pages (e.g. Dashboards), Views, Sessions and Tools you go to most often

  • There are various other changes in Planhat OS (including features moving and being renamed) - this article gives you an overview of some key points

Who is this article for?

  • Existing users of the previous version of Planhat (ws.planhat.com) who are upgrading to Planhat OS

Chat with Planhat AI

Every User now has access to the Planhat coworker, an AI Agent that lives inside Planhat and knows your data. This is the centerpiece of Planhat OS: instead of switching to another tool or prompting a generic AI, you have an Agent that already has the context of your customers, deals, activities and more.

You can:

  • Review your upcoming deals or renewals - ask Planhat to surface what's coming up, what needs attention, and where your portfolio stands

  • Understand Planhat features - ask Planhat anything you would have asked Fin about

  • Build Agents - ask Planhat to build a multi-step, rules-based Agent (previously called an Automation) to speed up your own process

  • Build HTML Artifacts - generate a live Page from your Planhat data (more on this below)

You chat to Planhat within "Sessions".

"Memory" and "Skills" (described next) provide further information to Planhat's AI chat Agent.

Memory & Skills

Memory is specific to each tenant, and enables Planhat to give smarter answers. For example, you could define Competitors, and Value Frameworks that your organization or team follows, so that the AI understands the context of how you actually run your business.

Skills are sets of instructions that tell an Agent how to approach a specific task. Think of it as giving the Planhat AI specific instructions: "when doing X, follow these steps, use this format, and apply this logic." Skills make Agents repeatable and consistent. Instead of re-prompting every time, you build a Skill once and invoke it whenever you need it. You can build your own Skills, share them across a team, or use pre-built ones.

Memories hold facts. Skills hold procedures.

Personal Agents

All Users can now create their own personal Agents (formerly called Automations), through the new Agents Module.

These are private by default, so you can build what's useful for your own process without affecting anyone else.

To keep things manageable at scale, admins can implement User-level limits.

HTML Artifacts - custom Pages, built on your data

When you chat to Planhat, the AI can build live HTML Pages (a new Page Type) using your real Planhat data.

  • Each HTML Artifact can be shared other Users in Planhat

  • It refreshes with the latest data when viewed

This could a deal health tracker, a customer risk dashboard, an executive summary report, and so on. You simply describe what you want to see, and Planhat builds it.

Favorites

Every View, Page, Tool, Session and record in Planhat can now be favorited. Favorites appear in your sidebar, giving you a persistent, personal bookmark bar for the things you go back to the most.

Profiles

Profiles have been redesigned to be consistent across Planhat.

Previously, only a limited set of data models (e.g. Companies) had Full-Page Profiles - everything else could only be a Preview (a concise, more compact version of a Profile).

Now, every model has a single, customizable, Full-Page Profile experience, single-column for ease of scanning. Featured tabs are now in widgets, still one click away. The distinction between "Profile" and "Preview" is gone: it's all just one Profile.

Signals

Signals surface the moments that matter on a record (e.g. a Company) - a churn risk, an escalation, or an expansion opportunity, without you having to read every email, call and ticket. This is especially valuable in "Scaled" Customer Success, where you are managing a large number of Companies.

Planhat's AI reads eligible Conversations from the last 30 days and, where it finds something significant, creates a Signal with a headline and a category. Field changes on records also appear as Signals, so you can see what was updated and by whom.

Signals appear in two places: a Signals widget on a record's Profile (e.g. a Company Profile), and the Signals Tool: a feed showing Signals across all records (respecting your own access permissions).

Signals are ranked by importance and by how relevant the data is to you personally - Companies you own rank higher.
