Setting "Conditions" on Fields, Success Units and Calculated Metrics means that the data will only be visible if the condition that you set has been met. This provides you with a huge amount of flexibility πŸ˜„! Each of your customers are unique and it makes sense to only display the data that is relevant to each account.

In short, you can use "Conditions" to choose where you want your Fields, Success Units and Calculated Metrics to be displayed.

With the use of examples, we're going to show you how to set your own conditions on Fields, Success Units and Calculated MetricsπŸ‘ .

Fields

Create a new field like you normally would - in the "Data" Global Tool:

... then at the bottom you will see "Conditions" - click "+ Rule" to set a new condition. (Note: you can also click on an existing field to open up this modal and edit it to set conditions.)

Example: we want to display "Churn Prevention" notes on Companies with a Health Score of less than 4.

  1. Create a new field on the Company model, called "Churn Prevention", with a data type of "text".

  2. Set our condition which is "Hlth" - "less than" - "4".

Result: we have the option to add "Churn Prevention" notes on Companies where the Health Score is less than 4, while any Company with a Health Score of 4 or higher will not have the "Churn Prevention" field available.

πŸ“Œ A field that is not visible because field conditions are not met, can still have a value - set before conditions were applied, or set in the Data Explorer or a Data Table etc. Page.

Success Units

Setting conditions on Success Units is quick and simple to do!

In upgraded Planhat (ws.planhat.com), Success Units are considered a specialist type of Company field. You create and edit them in the "Data" Global Tool - select "Company", "Fields" and then "Success Units", as shown below.

Once you have opened up the Success Unit modal (shown below), you can ensure that your choice of Success Unit is selected in the list on the left-hand side, and then click "+ Rule" at the bottom to create a condition.

Let's say you have a Phase called "Adoption" and you have created a few Success Units to measure customer Adoption. As default, Success Units are visible for every Phase, rather than just the "Adoption" Phase as you intended - but you can easily add a condition that's "Phase" - "equal to" - "Adoption".

Result: the Success Units with this condition will only be displayed on Companies that are in the "Adoption" Phase πŸ‘.

Calculated Metrics

In upgraded Planhat (ws.planhat.com), you can manage Metrics within the Data Explorer. When viewing the Preview modal of a specific Calculated Metric (shown on the right-hand side of the screenshot below), you can find the Conditions section within the "Formula" tab. As you have seen above for fields and Success Units, you click "+ Rule" to add a condition.

There are many reasons why you might want to display specific calculated metrics on a select number of Companies.

An example of this would be if you had multiple products (Product A and Product B) and you wanted to display relevant product usage on each Company. To make sure we're only seeing the applicable Company Calculated Metrics based on the product each Company has, we must use "Conditions".
