Get an overview of Data Explorer, Calendar, Notifications and Email Manager

  • In the top left of Home, you'll find some helpful default features:

    • Data Explorer - view and analyze your CRM and time-series data in a quick, temporary way, with easy-to-build filters and charts

    • Calendar - view and update your Company-related Tasks, such as meetings

    • Notifications - this is one of the ways you can be informed about customer data changes; you can edit your notification preferences here too

    • Email Manager - manage outgoing emails, including drafts and scheduled emails, surfacing any sending errors so they can be resolved

Introduction

Upgraded Planhat (ws.planhat.com) can be highly personalized, to make it perfectly suit you as an individual Planhat user. This means you have the very best user experience, rather than getting lost in a "jungle" of data and features. Much of this personalization consists of custom Pages, organized in Views and then Sections, which you and your team configure to make your "Home" screen the ideal setup for you to carry out your role.

In addition to these customized Sections/Views/Pages within Home, there are some built-in features always located in the top left of Home, ready "out of the box" - although in typical Planhat style, they are very interactive rather than read-only! These helpful tools will be useful for your day-to-day customer (and prospect) management.

We'll give you an overview of each of these in this article. You can also click on the links above to jump to more detailed articles on these features.

You'll also spot "Explore Content" at the bottom left of Home. This - Content Explorer - is another built-in feature of Home, but is covered in a separate article here.

Pinning features in Home

For these features at the top-left of Home, you can pin up to 3 of the 4 available, meaning their names will always show, rather than being hidden under "... More". Pin those you use the most.

If you haven't yet reached the limit of 3, you can pin your choice by clicking "... More", putting your mouse over the feature name and clicking on the open pin icon.

To unpin a feature, click on the solid pin icon next to its name.

If you navigate away to a different part of the Planhat app and these features are no longer visible, simply click the Home button (house icon) to view them again.


Data Explorer

"Data Explorer" is a key feature within Home. As the name suggests, it's a way for you to explore your data!

Data Explorer specifically is designed for you to carry out quick, temporary data analysis with ease. You don't need to be an admin or have a really technical background to ask questions of your data and get answers. You also don't need to create something permanent within your Planhat tenant when you only want to quickly look up something in your data, helping your tenant stay sleek and uncluttered.

Data Explorer is made up of two parts:

  1. "Dataset" is for your static/CRM data (e.g. your Companies, End Users, Licenses and Opportunities etc.)

  2. "Time-series" is for your time-series data, as the name indicates! This is Calculated Metrics, Custom Metrics, User Activities and System Metrics

Calendar

"Calendar" is your go-to place to see and update all the various Company-related Tasks you need to complete - both external Tasks such as Kick-Off Calls, and internal Tasks such as Sales Handovers.

The Tasks shown in Calendar include both Tasks that are part of Workflows and Tasks that are not.

You can display your Tasks in Calendar in either a calendar view or list view.

πŸ“Œ Planhat versions

If you used the original Planhat platform (app.planhat.com), the Calendar in upgraded Planhat is similar to the old Actions Module when it comes to Tasks. However, the Notifications that were in the Actions Module are now separated out - we'll talk about them next in this article!


Notifications

Planhat can notify you about important events - for example, a Company you're the Owner of experiences a drop in Health Score, or a colleague @mentions you in a comment. This means that you're always fully informed and can take the appropriate data-driven action.

"Notifications" in Home is how you can view your notifications within upgraded Planhat, and you can also jump from here to your User Profile to configure your notification preferences.

Email Manager

"Email Manager" is where you can carry out some email management - see your draft emails, view emails scheduled to be sent, see and deal with outgoing emails that have encountered an issue, and also review unassigned emails.

The emails in the "Drafts" tab are personal to you, but the other tabs show all appropriate emails in your tenant.

Note that Email Manager is separate from Inbox Pages, which show your choice of logged activities (Conversations - including emails, but potentially also other Conversation Types such as tickets and QBRs), and are perfect for - as the name suggests - Inboxes.
