Introduction

"Content" (also called "Content Manager") is one of the Global Tools for admins/builders of Planhat (e.g. CS Ops). It's a place where you can configure and apply customization within your Planhat tenant. Personalization is really central to upgraded Planhat (you can read more about this here), and within "Content" you can tailor Planhat for your whole organization and also for specific groups of colleagues.

There are three parts of the "Content" Global Tool:

  • Home Templates: Here you can customize the UI for groups of Planhat users in your tenant (while still allowing them to carry out some further personalization themselves)

  • Object Profile Pages: This is where you can set up and manage Custom Profile Pages, which are part of Custom Company Full-Page Profiles

  • Portal Templates: Here you can configure templates for Portals, part of enhanced Portal functionality in upgraded Planhat (ws.planhat.com). At the time of writing, this feature will be available in future; currently, you may not see this tab

We have separate articles diving deeper into each of these topics, so in this article we will give you a quick overview, and give you links to these additional resources.

πŸš€ Tip

The scope of this article is the "Content" Global Tool for admins ("Content Manager").

This is not to be confused with the general concept of content (Pages etc.), or the Content Explorer. You can read our series of articles on content here.

Navigating to "Content"

"Content" (also referred to as "Content Manager") is one of the Global Tools for admins that you will find on the left-hand side of the top gray bar of your Planhat tenant.

If Content is not pinned, you will find it under the ellipsis symbol, as shown below:

If you would like to pin "Content" to your top gray bar, mouse over its name in the list, and then click on the open pin (shown above). You'll then see the Content symbol in the gray bar, as shown below.

When you are within "Content", you'll see "Content" stated in the gray bar, as in the screenshot below.

Home Templates

"Home Templates" (previously called "User Personas") are one way that you, as an admin, can carry out top-down customization of your Planhat tenant.

You use Home Templates to customize the UI for groups of Planhat Users (i.e. you and your colleagues) when it comes to content (Pages and Sections). Specifically, you can:

  • Pin chosen Sections to Home

  • Share (recommend) specific Sections at first Home set-up

  • Recommend individual Pages

You set conditions in each Home Template, so it automatically applies to the appropriate group of Users (e.g. Sales, or Leadership).

We have a separate article that talks you through Home Templates in further detail - and how they compare to the concept of Roles - here, so check that out for more information, including details of how to set up Home Templates in "Content".

Object Profile Pages

"Object Profile Pages" within "Content" is where you can configure Custom Company Profile Pages.

This is one of the ways you can customize Company Full-Page Profiles.

Custom Profile Pages can be Dashboards, Presentations or Documents.

There are a very wide variety of use cases of Custom Profile Pages, both for internal use (for you and your colleagues) or external use (sharing with your customers).

You can either include them in Profile Templates, so they are automatically applied to multiple Companies' Profiles, or manually apply them to individual Company Profiles.

We have a separate article that talks you through Custom Profile Pages in further detail - what they are, why to use them, how to set them up in "Content", and different methods to apply them to Full-Page Profiles. Please read the article here to learn all about this topic.

Portal Templates

"Portal Templates" is related to the newly enhanced Portal functionality in upgraded Planhat (ws.planhat.com). At time of writing, this is currently under development (and indeed this tab may not be visible for you). More information will be available in future.

You can read existing documentation on Portals here - although note that that was written for the original Planhat platform (app.planhat.com).

Documentation on the updated Portals in upgraded Planhat will be released at a later date, as the new functionality is rolled out.
